The port of Antwerp is Belgium's largest seaport, sitting at the upper end of the tidal Scheldt estuary, navigable far inland by large ships. Since 2023 it has formed the port of Antwerp-Bruges together with Bruges, Europe's second-largest port, offering dramatic cranes and container terminals as a backdrop.
