Veerse Gat

The Veerse Gat was originally a sea channel in Zeeland between Noord-Beveland and Walcheren. In 1961, as part of the Delta Works, it was closed off by the Veerse Gatdam, creating the inland lake now known as Veerse Meer. The dam and the transition from tidal channel to calm lake make it a distinctive spot for open water and light.
