Kasteel Wissekerke

East Flanders· Castle· Monument
Description

Kasteel Wissekerke in the Waasland village of Bazel is a moated castle whose current structure largely dates from the 15th century, though a fortified building has stood here since the 10th. A striking 1824 wrought-iron suspension bridge, one of the oldest in Europe, spans its grounds, and the park has been freely accessible since a 2023 renovation.
